This training is designed for any new or existing line managers. It offers a holistic approach and an exploration of good practice.
The training comprises two parts.
Part 1 (3 hours) is for all line-managers, regardless of lay employee:
identify the key skills/qualities needed to manage lay employees.
fulfil their role and responsibilities in managing lay employees in the Methodist Church
clarify the different functions of line management
understand their role in managing the employment cycle
In addition, Part 2 (3 hours) is for all those managing a lay-employee with "significant pastoral contact with individuals and families", for instance, children and families workers, youth workers and local lay pastors and pioneers / NPNP workers:
